Inside Hudson, Issue #7
September 8, 2026

Good morning, Hudson. It's 91 today with a chance of storms, and the week stays in that pattern, so keep the plans loose.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says a child was bitten by an alligator at the Weeki Wachee Preserve on Monday and was taken to Bayonet Point with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Deputies put the animal at 9 to 12 feet. FWC and a licensed trapper set traps, and as of Monday there was no word that it had been caught. Worth keeping in mind if the preserve is on your list this week.

Closer to home, Moon Lake Elementary has its Title I open house on Thursday, and Aripeka Baptist Church has started a fall outreach program called Each One, Reach One. Glorious Pies is at Bear Creek on State Road 52 from 11 to 2 today, the Bayport Inn's all you can eat shrimp is back at $19.95, and Wednesday brings bike night at Circle S BBQ plus drag bingo at Emerald Coast Brewing.

Hudson, FL Area Weather

Five day Hudson, FL forecast: Tuesday 91/74, Wednesday 92/75, Thursday 91/75, Friday 90/75, Saturday 91/75, chance of showers and thunderstorms each day
