Good morning, Hudson. Today is National Corned Beef Hash Day, a holiday that clearly knew what it was doing by landing on a Sunday. Partly cloudy and 84, with a low of 69 tonight, the coolest night in the five-day. Mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday, then a small storm chance coming back Wednesday.

The news is short this morning, and what there is of it is good news. Buttercup and Sherry both found people this week at the Humane Society of Pasco County, out on Harmon Drive in Shady Hills. One thing worth knowing before anybody loads the kids in the car: the shelter is only open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 4, so today is not the day.

Whiskey River serves breakfast over the Cotee River until 11:30, Diecastarama brings diecast vendors to the VFW post on Drayton Street from 10:30 to 1:30, there is a lemonade truck parked on Hicks Road until 6, and Bickley Rivera plays Sam's Hudson Beach Bar from 3 to 7. Pace yourself.

The shelter sits at 14949 Harmon Drive in Shady Hills, and it is open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. only.
