Inside Hudson, Issue #5
September 6, 2026
Good morning, Hudson, and happy Sunday. It's 90 today with scattered storms, and that pattern holds most of the week, so plan around the afternoon.
Two pieces of good news from the Humane Society of Pasco: Dogwood has found a family, and Lexie has been adopted. If you've driven past 6020 US Highway 19 in New Port Richey, that address is the All Ways Center, a recovery community center run by The Hope Shot with peer led meetings, workshops, recovery coaching, sober living help and youth prevention programs. They ask visitors to come during normal business hours, and the number is 727-213-0900. Moon Lake Elementary also opened registration for Girls on the Run, for girls in third through fifth grade.
Then the good part. The Sun West Seafood and Crab Festival runs today from 9 to 6 on Old Dixie Highway, Big Worley's BBQ and Burger is at Craft Life Brewing from 2 to 7, and Sam's has Kingpin at 3 this afternoon and Remedy tomorrow at 4 for Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend.

I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.
Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.
The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.
