Inside Hudson, Issue #24
September 25, 2026

Good morning, Hudson. It's National Quesadilla Day, and Cali Street Tacos is parked at Four Corners from 9 to 5 if you want to mark it properly. The weather is holding: 86 today, then 84 and dry on Saturday, the coolest of the five days ahead. Enjoy the run while it lasts, because storms edge back into the forecast Tuesday.

Hillsborough and Pinellas both declared dengue emergencies yesterday, so all three Tampa Bay counties are now under one at the same time. The local numbers have barely moved, with Pasco still at two cases against Hillsborough's 134, and the orders are mostly about letting mosquito control spend and act without the usual paperwork. Closer to the kitchen: the county wants you to know that milk cartons, juice boxes and glass all belong in the trash, not the recycling bin.

Shady Hills Elementary finally put a day on its color run, and the day is today. Elevated Fusion pulls into Craft Life at 5, Southbound 75 plays Circle S at 7, and Sam's has live music tonight and again Saturday. Sunday brings Diecastarama to the VFW on Drayton Street. Here's your Friday.

Hudson, FL Area Weather

Inside Hudson five day forecast: Friday 86/66 mostly sunny, Saturday 84/66 mostly sunny, Sunday 85/69 partly cloudy, Monday 87/70 mostly sunny, Tuesday 88/71 partly cloudy with isolated storms

Hillsborough and Pinellas join Pasco under a dengue emergency
Bay News 9 (Tampa)
Hillsborough and Pinellas declared local states of emergency over dengue on Thursday, joining Pasco and putting all three Tampa Bay counties under one at the same time. Each order runs seven days unless lifted sooner. Pasco's lets the County Administrator and Emergency Management Director waive routine procedures; Hillsborough's opens a path to federal reimbursement; Pinellas gives County Administrator Barry A. Burton authority to approve mosquito control spending quickly. The case numbers have not moved much locally. Pasco still has two locally acquired cases against Hillsborough's 134. What officials want from residents is unchanged: drain anything holding water, use an EPA-registered repellent, and keep your screens in one piece.

Milk cartons, juice boxes and glass all go in the trash here
Pasco County Government (FB Page)
Pasco does not recycle milk cartons or juice boxes, and it does not recycle glass either, which catches most people out. The curbside bin takes aluminum cans, cardboard, metal food cans, paper, and plastic bottles and containers numbered 1 through 5 and 7. That is the whole list, and the county says the reason is simple: the sorting machines are built for those items and nothing else. Anything else in the bin has to be pulled back out. Questions go to 727-847-8123 or [email protected].
