The Sheriff's Office is warning about a scam in which someone assumes a property owner's identity, aimed at homeowners, buyers and real estate agents alike. The county runs a virtual workshop at 10 this morning for small businesses and nonprofits still working through Idalia, Helene and Milton. And Chief Joey Coleman is retiring from Pasco Fire Rescue after more than 25 years, with a Distinguished Service Award on the way out.

Pasco County is running a virtual workshop at 10 a.m. today on who qualifies for its Small Business and Non-Profit Recovery Program and what support is available, for businesses and nonprofits hit by Hurricanes Idalia, Helene or Milton. The county puts the program's launch at October, and says the funding may cover loans or grants for recovery, workforce development, relocation and other work that keeps jobs in the county.
