Good morning, Hudson. It's 91 today with isolated storms, and the weekend looks much the same, so the beach plans should hold if you dodge the afternoon.

Pasco County Animal Services says record intakes have pushed the county shelter past capacity, and it has waived adoption fees and asked for help. If you have been thinking about it, this is the week. Elsewhere in the county, two Hernando County deputies were shot Thursday morning in Spring Hill; both were taken to a hospital, a suspect is in custody, and no deaths were reported. And if you live near Gulf High School, expect a series of loud noises this morning as part of a planned commemorative ceremony.

For the weekend: Krafted by Kiki is at the Bayonet Point ER at 11, Elevated Fusion is at Craft Life from 5, and Mrs. Red opens for Borderline at Circle S tonight with the Pasco Young Marines posting colors. Saturday brings the Diva Angels pasta benefit for veterans and rescue dogs, Rooster playing Alice in Chains at Sims Park, and Sunday there's a toy and collectibles show at the Spring Hill VFW.
