Inside Hudson, Issue #28
September 29, 2026

Good morning, Hudson. Today is National VFW Day, which the calendar has timed neatly: VFW Post 7845 is running karaoke twice this week. It is 86 with showers possible, and at a 17 percent chance this is the driest day in the five-day, so use it.

Hudson Beach is clear again. The health department has lifted the high-bacteria advisory at Robert J. Strickland Memorial Park after samples came back within state limits. Elsewhere: $235 million is approved for the county's Better Future infrastructure work, and the Sheriff's Office says the electric motorcycles turning up on sidewalks are not the electric bicycles they look like.

VFW Post 7845 has karaoke tonight at 6:30 and again Thursday, The Hacienda runs its 98-year history tours at 5 and 6, and trivia starts at Silverthorn at 6. It is also National Coffee Day, and Marie and Me is parked at the Verizon on Mariner Boulevard from 6:45 this morning. Start there.

Hudson, FL Area Weather

Inside Hudson five day forecast: Tuesday 86/71 partly cloudy with showers and isolated storms, Wednesday 87/72 partly cloudy with numerous showers and scattered storms, Thursday 88/74 partly cloudy with numerous showers and scattered storms, Friday 89/74 partly cloudy with showers and scattered storms, Saturday 89/74 partly cloudy with showers and scattered storms

I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.
